heh, dude in my online class who made this page (http://sh307.aisites.com/IMD401/indexfinal.html) is hatin hard on my page for class (http://eyd301.aisites.com/aws/IMD401/index.html)
lol
what's he sayin
"I think it's a good layout, but i would definitively try changing the color to something else. I would also try to improve the navigation a bit. the plain links makes it look outdated.
just a thought.
Sergio."
Serrrrge
lol
this chick is hatin even harder on me: http://aeb158.aisites.com/imd401/indexfinal.html
but i think she's butthurt cuz i ripped into her on my critique, heh
hehehe
who's matt polk
her man
i dont think so, because he didnt give her content to finish the website in time
heh
she said this to me:
"I definitely agree with the general consensus - I really do not care for your pink scheme or your graphics. I think they are very bland and could've used maybe a gradient or... I don't know, more effects. They look like they were done in paint by someone who doesn't know particularly well how to design graphics.
I think your fonts are way too big as well. It really looks as if you are targeting your website to 6 year old girls, and I don't think that's the case."
general consensus being pretty much just Sergio
unless theyve been talkin behind my back, but i doubt that. haha
thats the problem with online classes. haha
jeezus, she's hatin hard
lol
ahhhhh
its a CSS class
those "graphics" are just CSS styling
what did you say to hers
heh
a lot
hahahaha
hahahah
this was last week:
This is this week:
"Eros to Allison:It's looking good! Some small things need a little paying attention to:
- force justifying the text is really making the spacing between words awkward. And the main text seems a little too spaced out, as well.
- the text doesn't line up exactly on the left side with the pictures, nor on the right side with the bridge & groom photo. The text overhanging the edges of the photos makes it feel like it's going into the margin... (maybe it's the browser i'm using and it does on yours? I'm using Firefox on Mac.)
- another alignment issue is the content box not lining up with the site banner at the top. there would be more cohesiveness if those lined up, as well. (again, this might be my browser having different inherent style behaviour...)
- "Welcome!" is a bit too close to that top border. Perhaps give it a little more top-margin?
- I like how you decided to add the navigation at the bottom as sort of a utility nav, but maybe you should make it smaller and less important instead of just repeating the same menu? Since it's more of just a convenience thing and not really as important as the nav at the top..."
"Eros to Allison:
Most of my comments from last week still stand, though you did take care of the spacing issue with "Welcome!" being too close to the top border. Another picky detail would be to give the photo galleries more bottom margin/padding from the bottom border of the box, ideally equal to space given to the sides. See how when you're viewing the galleries, the pictures at the bottom are closer to the container border than the pics are to the side container borders?
Another thing: I don't think you need to indent the first line of your paragraphs on your main page. It especially throws off the spacing since you're force justifying the text. The top of the second paragraph has some especially noticeable rivers.
I can read the navigation menu fine, but if there are older people who might want Matt's services, the nav might not be as obvious as they might like it to be. Hierarchy-wise, it looks like the least important element on the page, next to the designer information at the bottom, when it should be much more important.
But overall, your site has a good feel and seems professional. On the subject of it being professional though, and this is too late I know, but it would have been good to have a Contact section for people who might want to get in touch with Matt for work."
damn
you're real nice with yours
she's a biotch!
hahahah
she cant handle the crit
and Serrrrrrg said this
about this site by someone else: http://jsc533.aisites.com/IMD401/indexfinal.html"i like it. It reminds me of those old 1950's movie posters.
one of your links at the bottom doesn't work. seems to be pointed to the wrong file name.
good job.
Sergio"
how many people are in the class
only a handleful
kinda stupid
(*note: i meant it was kind of stupid there were so few of us in class. we didn't even get much teaching from our instructor either.)
lol
i dont really think very highly of the class
what school is it through
art institute
oh, this is what she said back to my crit to her:
"Okay - the gallery margins is an extremely picky detail but I guess I see your point.
And I like the indent, it makes it appear to be in more of a paragraph format. I think most other people will agree.
Most older people who use the internet should be aware that they cannot read a lot of what is on the web, and this can be easily corrected by modifying the browser settings to make the font bigger, however maybe it would help if I explained how to do that somewhere. But I like the current design and I think it would throw it off if the navigation was any other way.
If you read my ramblings on the main page, you would see that I intended to have contact information on there but wasn't able to get all information. You are definitely right, there should be contact info, but I planned on having it on the index page rather than it's own section, which I think would have worked just fine. I don't think an entire page should be dedicated to contact information in my case."
lol re: contact page
yeah, shes stupid
most people automatically look for that
like imma read that shit
its all filler shit. i see "lalala", i don't read
i dont really see how she couldnt get his contact information
how did she even get anything from him???
haha
why couldn't she just make the shit up
hahahah
im tempted to write back, but i dunno if its worth it
she hard-headed
yeah, prolly won't even make a dent
that video site is the only one i didnt really try to have a nice tone towards on my crit:
dude"Eros to John:
I know that we didn't have to use CSS for positioning though we're trying to move away from relying on tables, but there doesn't seem to be that much CSS on your page, especially since you still have presentational html in your html document. Half of the CSS you do have is dedicated to styling the scrollbar, but I don't see the effects of it, maybe it's an IE on PC thing?
I can look at your page normally and then with CSS styling disabled and it looks basically the same except for the background image."
that video site
so bad
which
oh
hahahah
this is a CSS class
dude prob only has like 3 things he did with CSS
4 if you include his scrollbar styling, which i dont even see
haaha
that shit is played
this is ALL of his CSS:
body {background-color: #000000;
background-image: url("dvdtile.jpg");
color: #ffffff;
font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
margin-top: 15px;
margin-bottom: 25px;
margin-left: 25px;
margin-right: 25px}p {text-indent: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom:
0px; margin-left: 20px; margin-right: 20px; font-size: 13px;}h1 {text-align: left; color: #ffffff; font-size: 16px}
h2 {text-align: left; color: red; background-color: transparent; font-size: 20px;}
a:link {color: yellow;}
a:visited {color: #666666;}
a:hover {color: purple;}
